Batting .500

In a note almost completely unrelated to the rest of the post, I am mildly shocked that the Zombie Snowman Classic Rearing Mustang Neva is sold out. I am not so enamored of him that I have to buy one at a jacked up price elsewhere on the Internet, though.

Speaking of…

Well, I was half right: they made 1000 of him:

I mean, yeah, he’s pretty, but let’s not kid ourselves here: even though they made 1000 of him, the aftermath of this drawing is going to be Marshall (the notorious Micro Run Polled Hereford Bull) level ugly. I would not be surprised if several hundred of them end up getting listed for sale within the first hour or so of the drawing.

Some will sell because many hobbyists can’t be patient, thus ensuring that the cycle will continue on, ad infinitum.

Look, most of my life I didn’t have the money to not be patient, and I’m not about to change. Plastic horses are frivolous things, and life goes on perfectly well with or without them. (Or so I tell myself.)

There are way too many Silver Filigree releases – some of them nigh unattainable – for me to be a completist at this point, so I am not going to get too worked up if I don’t get drawn for Tahoe. This is very likely: I don’t usually get picked for the “popular” ones, though I did get Zugspitze last year somehow. So I don’t have a lot to complain about, really?

I’ll just put my entry in, and worry about it when the time comes.

Since I don’t plan on being online too much in the next couple of weeks – I’m planning to staying as offline as possible through the end of the year to get some real-world things done – I’ll probably miss most of the drama, thankfully.

Though I may stream some Star Trek stuff over the holiday break while I finish prepping that massive hexagon quilt project: I received a year’s subscription to Paramount Plus as an early Christmas present, and I’ve heard so many good things about Strange New Worlds

This week I’m trying a new sleep schedule to improve my productivity. It worked out great yesterday, but day two has been some tough sledding. I think I’ll hit the sack a couple hours early and try it again tomorrow.

As Charlie Brown so infamously puts it--"AAAAUUUUGGGHHH---NOOOOOO"!!! There's not many models that I have all the colors issued on--with the exception of the champagne tobiano pinto, HAMILTON was one of those!!
What the *heck* was Breyer thinking??!! DARN IT!! I *may* enter for him even tho I tend to avoid drawings and lotteries like crazy!! So *close* to Christmas too---if (on the wild chance that I get chosen), how ever will I pay for him??

Well--he's nice enough alright! Surprisingly, I 'm not as wild about him as I thought I'd be! I usually don't go after the filigree anyway--but if I did, Zugspitze would be on the top of my list!!
No worries though--I have an acquaintance who is seemingly well off(some how she manages to get any filigree or other rare model that she wants!! You should see her beautiful collection!!) She's already been drawn for Elsa--so if she gets drawn for Tahoe as well, I'll just live vicariously through her as I always do! Win! Win!

I am DYING to see "Strange New Worlds," and unfortunately Paramount Plus is out of the question for me. I understand it'll be out on DVD next year, though, so that'll work just as well. As far as Tahoe goes -- the mold is very nice, but I'm one of five or six people on the planet who doesn't care for decorator colors, and I couldn't afford him anyway, so I'm just gonna sit back and watch.

My brain finally connected the old 1960s vintage Decorator colors and mold "5-Gaiter" with the new, updated "5-Gaiter" Hamilton. Next up, blue and gold, wanna bet?!

But who's the "updated" Running Mare?
Oh, duh, Hermosa and/or Giselle...

Love him, need one, but I've never been drawn for a filigree, so not holding my breath. I did win the Othello guy when it was first come, first bought, but never again. I wanted Zug SOOO bad, too. Still do.

I am among the few that really have NO love for this mold. But I did enter in the hopes that someone who loves this mold won Zug and will want to trade him off! It's my only hope of getting that beautiful pony. But with the numbers being higher (Which I truly DO appreciate) it may be a tough swap (Unless I can sweeten the pot!). We shall see. Since I won Elsa I have no hopes of also winning this guy. My odds are one raffle model every 5 or 6 years!

I entered with the hope of using him as trade fodder.

I do love Hamilton, but it’s not $200 + crazy shipping kind of love.
